Golf is the one game that bridges perfectly the gap between the corporate world and the sports world. Loved by both the business and sports community alike, this great game has really become quite popular. If you desire for either business or sports to learn to play golf , first learn the basics and perfect them.
Learning the basics is very important in golf. It’s like building, if you don’t get the foundation right, it doesn’t matter how beautiful or high the building is, it will eventually come down. Getting the basics right and perfecting it, in my opinion is what makes great golfers like Tiger Woods who they are. Tiger started playing golf at a very young age, he learnt and perfected the basics and today he is reaping the benefits.
Learning and perfecting the basics helps you to really know the game and be a great player. The secret of success in life in any endeavor lies in the simple and basic things.A successful business, for example, is all to do with providing what people need when they need it. It’s that simple, yet not many people get that simple principle right but those who get it right are the most successful. That’s why the world’s richest main are not those with complicated degrees but those with simple business plans. In Golf also, success is in the basics. Basic things like, the swing, the clubs and the course.
The Swing
There is nothing so basic and yet so important in golf as the swing. The swing is what differentiates great players from ordinary players. The most important thing for every player in golf is to learn his swing. Golf is simply about swinging a club, hitting a ball towards and eventually into a hole. The swing is what makes the winner. Everybody has access to the same kind of clubs, they are sold everywhere, the same kind of course but not the same swing. You must learn how perfectly to control the ball with your swing. Swings are perfected with practice. The control of the ball is in the swing. So there is a need for you to really work on your swing and perfect it. The basics of how to hold the club , how to stand and how to drive the ball can be generally taught but you have to make your drive perfect on you own.
The Clubs
One of the very important golf basics is the golf clubs. You must know your clubs well. Know which to use at what distance in which condition and for what purpose. This knowledge separates the top players from the usual players.
The Course
Though there are special regulations guiding the construction of a course, professional golf players will tell you that courses differ one from another. Knowing and mastering the course is important. It’s what lets you know how to hit your ball, where to hit it and where to avoid. Great players take time to examine each course before playing in any tournament. Knowing the course well may be what differentiates the winner from the others eventually.
Success is in the basics, learn and perfect the basics and your success in golf is guaranteed.

After hitting the ball as close to the hole as possible, it is just a matter of putting so you can move on to the next one. While this may sound easy given the short distance, there are still some who have a hard time. To help you out, here are 4 golf swing drills you can try.
The first is the one handed drill. You do this by practice putting ten balls using only your training hand. This drill lets you focus on the palm of your hand as it moves towards the cup.
Next, practice putting using your target hand. The emphasis here is for you to concentrate on your back hand moving towards the cup.
When you do this drill using either hand, be conscious of the toe of your putter in the follow through. Should this turn away from the cup or point toward it, this means you are turning your hand. So you know you are doing it right, the face of the putter should be square to the cup.
Another drill is to practice putting with one eye. Some golfers do this because it stops them from lifting their head prematurely. If you are a frequent player of this game, you can even try putting with your eyes closed.
But won’t closing your eyes make it harder for you to see where the ball is going? Yes but research has shown that when you try to putt with your eyes open, there is interference with the brain/muscle control system. By closing your eyes, you are relying more on your hands to guide the ball into the hole. And how will you know if the ball goes in? By using you ears at its maximum sensitivity.
To do this, you have to practice first putting first with your eyes open at a range of 10 to 50 feet from the hole. After sending these balls with open eyes , repeat same things with your eyes closed. If the ball goes in the hole, you know that sink the ball with your eyes closed.
Another eyes closed technique involves dropping some balls to the ground and just putting them. The objective here is simply to let you feel how the stroke flows back and forth. Do the same thing also with your eyes open. Now that you know the difference, try to incorporate that when you are putting the balls into the hole.
The last golf swing drill is called the alignment drill. To do this, you lay two clubs on the green about six inches apart and make sure that they are parallel to each other. Now putt the ball to see if your stroke is aligned at impact and steady on the back and forward stroke. Do this several times and if you get tired, take a break and rest for a while before resuming the drill.
Practicing some golf swing putting drills like those mentioned will surely help you improve on your game. Who can say? You might even win when you are playing 18 holes with friends. If you can do that at short distances, the only thing to practice on now is your long game because this is just as important as the short game.

In their quest for a lower score, golfers will resort to almost anything. Some focus not just on their game but on winning.
Hypnotic techniques have become a mind power training “secret weapon” for some resourceful golfers. It can be a great way to develop concentration and a mental edge.
There’s a darker side to hypnotic methods, especially the one I’ll tell you about in a moment, that I have to mention.
It’s great to use it to help your own game, but some people go farther and, let’s say, “help” the rest of the foursome by using hypnosis against them.
When someone uses hypnosis this way, an adversary who may be may find themselves somehow shanking the ball, having their drives slice into the rough, making poor club choices, trying to carry the water when they shouldn’t, or making a lot other such missteps.
There are innumerable times over the course of 18 holes where a player makes decisions that influence their score.
It a fact of golf that the difference between a great shot and a lousy one is extremely small. The least change in a good swing destroys a shot and costs at least a stroke.
I’ll leave it to you to decide the right and wrong of this, but hypnosis does give someone a way to affect their opponent’s mental state as well as their decisions. Some say “All’s fair in love and war”. Maybe that’s true in golf as well.
No one can actually take over control of someone’s mind. For example, you’d never influence them to do something they find morally offensive.
But you are able to put out suggestions or create doubt and by doing so definitely influence their mental state.
You probably have played with some character that used tactics such as carrying on a mildly heckling conversation while you’re addressing your a shot off the tee, or standing so his shadow runs across the line of your putt or other dumb tricks like that to try to put you off your game.
Wouldn’t you like to have a way to repay the favor? That’s what conversational hypnosis does.
Conversational hypnosis works especially well in this regard. With this style of hypnosis there’s no formal induction. The subject never closes their eyes and you don’t swing a watch in front of them like they do in the old movies.
Rather, you just talk, but in certain manner. Once you learn how, it’s easy to induce an “awake trance”. Once you’ve done that you weave your suggestions and commands into the stream of talk. This type of hypnosis is a very influential use of words.
An added about mastering this technique to help on the golf course is that once you know how to use it you can apply it for anything.
People often use hypnosis to improve their relationships, change habits, and attain goals – you can use it for anything where you’d like to harness the power of the subconscious (your own or another person’s).

A good golf swing is the best way to start a golf game with. That way, the ball will land near the hole so it is just a matter of putting it in.
In scientific terms, this is all about physics because the twisting swing produces torque on the club. When this happens, the kinetic energy that is collected for the club head will go to the club causing it to fly a great distance.
Professional golfers that make the ball go very far achieve a club head speed of about 100 miles per hour. Tiger Woods has been exceptional as he once clocked at 125 miles per hour.
But the proper golf swing has another component and that is the lie angle. For those who don’t know what this is, it is the angle between the club shaft and the club face. Most golfers strike the ball at 12 degrees is a fact that becomes clear if you have a golf swing monitoring machine. One scientist believes that players can do better if they hit the ball at a 7.5 degree lie angle.
To do that, you need to know the 4 elements.
First, at the back of the swing, you should stretch as far back and extend the range of motion while keeping your rotating torso directly over your right leg.
When you begin your swing, turn your torso quickly and press down on your right leg.
Next, drive through the ball using your hips, shoulders and wrists which will all help increase your ball speed.
Lastly, let the club head’s momentum extend to the follow through far around the back so you get to complete a smooth club head rotation.
You have to remember that the golf swing mentioned is far different when you are stuck in a sand trap because there is something blocking your way and you have to go over that. To do that, you have to hit the sand behind the ball using the club head. How far will the ball travel depends on the distance between the club head and the sand.
In both instances, a good golfer must be able to adapt with the surroundings and the weather. If the winds are strong, you cannot hit the ball at 7.5 or 12 degrees every time. The rule of thumb is that when the wind is coming from behind you, you have to use a club that has a greater lie angle. If the wind is coming to you from the front, you should use a club with a smaller lie angle. If you do not follow these rules, the ball will not travel far or you may end up with a slice or a hook.
Making the proper golf swing is not easy. If that was the case, almost everyone will be able to hit a hole in one. This is why professionals practice more than 8 hours a day because they know that there are things beyond their control and the weather is a very significant factor.
Now that you know what to do, it is just a matter of practice so you can put theory into practice. If you are still having a hard time, get some golf swing aids to help you out.

Golf swing tips can be found on-line or you can purchase one of the golf swing instructional e-books. Many of these tips on golf swing techniques go into a lot of detail; at times, too much detail. What most of us with a golf swing fault need are just a few basic golf swing tips; whether it is to fix a slice or learn more about iron shots.
5 Tips on How to Drive Long
To be able to shoot lower scores, one of the best ways is to gain more golf distance off the tee. With a shorter distance to the green you will have more chance to score par or better. Of course, you need accuracy as well as distance; otherwise you will be in a worse situation. The following 5 quick and easy tips will help you drive long off the tee:
(1) Position the ball off your leading foot’s instep and tee the ball up higher so that you hit the ball on the up-swing; (2) Resist trying to hit the ball with all your might - instead, use a steady rhythm and work on increasing your swing speed gradually; (3) Use the correct shaft flex for your swing speed - use a flexible shaft if you have a lower swing speed (stiffer for faster swing speed); (4) Cock your wrists early on the back-swing and release them just before impacting the ball; (5) On the backswing, turn your shoulders a full 90 degrees for maximum distance off the tee.
5 Tips on How to Master The Golf Irons
How to master golf irons is a subject that is often ignored. You will find many resources available to help you improve your driving or putting but not much importance is placed on golf iron play. With these 5 tips you will learn to dominate your golf irons:
(1) To know your average distance with each golf iron in your bag, practice on the driving range; (2) Bu using the right iron for the distance you want to hit it, you will be able to use a full swing which is easier to control; (3) Make sure you take into account the wind distance and strength as well as other factors like the slope you are playing from and the height to the green; (4) Playing out off the rough is different from playing off the fairway - you will need to adjust your ball position, stance, iron loft, and your attack angle; (5) Learn how to use course management to your advantage - sometimes going for the pin is not the best option.
5 Tips on How to Improve The Golf Short Game
One of the most important areas of the golf game is the golf short game. If you are able to hit long and accurate drives, that is great, but if you can’t chip or pitch the ball on the green, all that effort will be wasted. The short game of golf is where you really need to practice, so check out the following 5 tips:
(1) From under 50 yards, use a bump and run and get the ball rolling as soon as possible; (2) Use a slightly open stance and place your feet closer together; (3) Choose one club (7, 8, or 9 iron) and practice your chipping from different distances with it; (4) The length of your backswing will determine the distance the ball will travel; (5) When playing over a hazard, use a more lofted club with a pitching swing.
The three areas of the game that these tips above cover are important, but there are other areas that you will need to learn. They are learning how to cure a slice or hook (if you have these swing faults,) bunker or sand trap play, putting, and pitching. As golf is an all round game, you have to be proficient in every aspect of the game to succeed. You can’t just concentrate on how to be a long drive champion; you have to practice with every club in your bag.

Golf is one of the most popular sports in the world and not surprisingly there are millions of websites dedicated to the sport. The amateur golfer suffers from there being an over-abundance of information.
When you go to Google or any other search engine and type in the information you are looking for you will receive a bewildering number of websites that might offer what you are looking for.
For example just as a random search I have just gone to Google and typed in “buy new seven iron” without the quotation marks. I have been returned no less than 18,600,000 results.
That is not very helpful. I am suffering with information overload, particularly as a quick look through the first page of websites suggests a lot of narrow websites rather then a the general overview retailer that i was hoping for
As another example I have tried “golf course in Arizona”. This time I have got 3,400,000 results.
It occurred to me that there must be a solution to this; a way of cutting through the overwhelming amount of information supplied by the might of Google.
Without warning the answer to my problems hit me in the head (no not a golf ball).
What I did was to build a personal golf toolbar.Toolbars, if you are not certain are the useful rows of symbols at the top of your screen.
In the toolbar I put in my favorite golfing websites so that whenever I wanted golf information it was there at the top of my screen every time I was online. It meany my preferred store, course directory and news site were just a click away.It was the quality over quantity approach.
I use Google rarely now for golf searches and just rely on the toolbar most of the time.
I decided that it would be great for others to use the toolbar and it’s here. Its free for everybody to use.It loads in no time and the Trusted Download icon shows it is completely safe.
It currently features a leading golf retailer, a special site for training aids, videos and books , plus a golf news centre, a weather forecast (perhaps the most useful thing of all), a vacation arranger, utilities, games and loads of other useful stuff.
The Golf Information toolbar.
I think its very handy and hope that many more will. It is completely free though it’s only fair to point out that if you do buy anything through the retailer on there I do get a commission from them.
I hope that you enjoy the golf toolbar.
The Golf toolbar.

People have been fascinated with mastering the often frustrating game of golf ever since the game was invented back in the 15th century. Since 1750 the game of golf evolved into what we know it as today. But mastering the game of golf is still as difficult as ever, even though golf equipment technology and teaching techniques have improved greatly.
Fortunately, nowadays we have access to golf tips online through the Internet and golf tips newsletters. Although I have played golf for over 30 years, I struggled to master the game until recently. With the many golf resources you can find online, it is now easier to discover the little "secrets" that can make a big difference with your game.
You can also buy many outstanding products, like golf swing training aids, golf instructional videos, and even several golf e-books that can help you master the game. But, you can also find some valuable free golf tips online as well. Just remember that you will find many different techniques - especially concerning the golf grip and the transition from back-swing to downswing.
Just try out the different techniques and see what works for you. The golf swing is a fairly complex movement and there are several styles; from the traditional swing to the newer stack and tilt golf swing. Some online golf tips tell you to grip the club tightly, firmly or even loosely. These terms are quite subjective as they don't really tell you the amount of pressure to use - so just experiment until you find the right grip - I prefer a firm grip.”
When finding golf tips online, remember that there is more to golf than just the golf swing. Search for websites that show you the most all-inclusive golf tips. Probably one of the most important aspects of golf is the mental game of golf; which is often ignored. Here is a free golf tip - learn the inner game of golf techniques.
It is important to know what the right golf equipment is for your type of game (golf clubs and balls.) If you are a novice, look for clubs that are matched for the beginner golfer as they are more forgiving to miss-hits. Buy a driver and fairway woods with a large titanium head, perimeter weighting, and a graphite shaft. For irons, choose iron shafts for accuracy, more sole weighting, and wider soles. For beginners or high handicap golfers, play a two-piece, mid spin, firm feel golf ball.
Look for golf tips online that cover the whole aspect of golf. Some of the things you need to learn are the grip; setup and stance; backswing, transition, and downswing; driving, fairway shots, chipping, bunker shots, and putting; course management; how to fix problems like the slice, hook, and pull / push shots; and the different trouble shots you will encounter - playing into the wind, deep rough, hill lies, and more.
One option is to pay a professional golf coach to learn all these things, but you will end up paying a lot of money for so many lessons. I would recommend starting out to learn as much as possible with free online golf tips. You could then take a few personal golf lessons and then visit the driving range to practice what you have been taught. Finally, get out on the golf course and play a round of golf - and remember, to master the game of golf, you need to practice - and have fun!

Caddies used to be indispensable for helping golfers get their way on the course, yet with the development of technology, Sky Caddie has become the modern assistant that is not only knowledgeable but also very accurate. What exactly is the job of a caddie? Well, Well, besides the task of carrying crosses, the caddie provides information on the distances to certain targets. This kind of service allows the golf player to focus his/her attention on the execution of the shots; the general tendency is for professional golfers to have a caddy, which clearly distinguishes them from amateurish players.
Sky Caddie
A Sky Caddie device reduces all the disadvantages of playing on unfamiliar course. Sky Caddie is an electronic device that indicates the distances to all potential targets. The mapping and recording of this information is possible by the use of high tech survey-grade equipment that stores all the data corresponding to the different geographical specificity of the golf course. A variant for Sky Caddie, satellite images proved highly affordable but unreliable, and ceased to be used for the application. According to experts Sky Caddie will help you save almost five shots per game.
Sky Caddie
Various types of softwares can be uploaded on Sky Caddie for a wide range of applications: thus, commentators at golf championships need Sky Caddie in order to transmit viewers the distance at which the golfers shoot and what chances they have to go for the hole. Moreover, highly accurate statistic rates can be calculated with the help of the Sky Caddie to appreciate the evolution along the course for every player. Such applications have caused great reviews for Sky Caddie from professional analysts who classify it as the most accurate golf GPS system ever launched on the market. You’ve got the option to download the courses on the Sky Caddie in order to enjoy a professionally mapped material.
Sky Caddie
With Sky Caddie you can measure both the depth and the shape of the green parts of the course as well as the angles and distances necessary for the shots. Sky Caddie comes with a water resistant case, a back light and a rechargeable battery, not to mention that you can use it with only one hand. Nevertheless, there is one disadvantage spotted so far in the design of Sky Caddie: the fact that it has to be kept dry permanently on rainy rounds. Some users even complained of not being able to upload course programs and they sent the product back to the producer. Under the circumstances the buyer needs to contact the manufacturing company in order to get a viable solution to the problem.
