Mountain biking groups typically travel with first aid kits, so that they are able to clean and dress cuts and abrasions or splint broken limbs. Experienced mountain bike guides may also have training in dealing with suspected spinal injuries (e.g., immobilizing the victim and keeping the neck straight).
Mountain biking and other bicycling is allowed on certain roads and trails in Auburn S.R.A.
Mountain biking is roughly broken down into five categories: cross country , downhill , freeride , dirt jump and trials /street riding. However, most mountain bikes have a similar look: knobby tires, large round frame tubing, and some sort of suspension or shock absorbers.

Ride solo or join our summer series of bike rides. Riders often must rely on their own resources to get out of trouble or back to civilization. Cell phone reception is spotty in many areas.
Touring and Mountain Biking are the most popular forms of biking in USA, but are not for the faint-of-heart or the ill-equipped. There are also Recreational Bike Paths for those of us who prefer peddling along a shoreline or on flatter terrain.
